Increased production and exports of solid carbide cutting tools of the top range

UMT LLC. was established in 2006 in the Town of Kazanlak. The initial business activity revolved around trade-import from Russia and the Ukraine of construction and instrumental steel and export to Russia and the countries from the former Soviet Union of machines and cutting tools. In 2010, on the basis of the acquired experience in sales of tools and the contacts created on the Bulgarian and the Russian market, UMT LLC. started its own production and the activity transformed from trading to predominantly manufacturing. At present UMT LLC. is the only producer in Bulgaria of solid carbide cutting tools but at that stage the applicant faces the impossibility to satisfy the growing export demand. The investment - subject of this project represents latest generation equipment which will allow the production of larger volumes of cutting tools of the highest range, incl. combined tools, tools for the hydraulic machine building, unique tools by order. The following activities will be impelemented through the project: 1. Manufacturing process improvement activity; 2. Activity towards adding new features or improvement of existing products and services; 3. Activity towards introduction of new technologies for improvement of resource efficiency and effectiveness of the production process; Those activities will be fulfilled through the purchase and installation of: - Cutting machine; - Machine for profile grinding; - CNC grinding machine with hydraulic lunette; - CNC measuring machine; The implementation of the activities will facilitate achievement of the project goals: expansion of production capacity and strengthening of export capacity. The expanded capacity and productivity together with top-tier quality of tool elaboration represent a basic factor for strengthening the export potential of UMT LLC. Through the project, the company will preserve, improve and create new market positions - on current and new export markets.
