Improving the production capacity in "ELITKOM" Ltd.

ELITCOM Ltd. was established in 1995. In recent years the company has focused on development and operating of own cable distribution systems for television and the Internet, assembly of electronic components for them and build networks. Since 1998 the company started development of cable distribution network in the town of Saedinenie. Subsequently the territory of the cable distribution network expands to 14 settlements being consolidated into four analog headends, as the connection between them is via fiber optic cable line. In 2008 ELITKOM Ltd. began construction and of its own LAN connectivity for Internet delivery in the town of Saedinenie, and over the years the company continues to expand its scope of action and in other settlements. Planned project activities include improvement of production processes and implementation of new technologies for resource efficiency and effectiveness improvement, and will be realized through the delivery and commissioning of System for transmission of TV and Internet passive optical cable network and devices for measuring signals in PON networks. Passive optical network (PON) is network architecture of fiber optic cable point-to-multipoint, without using in the network of active equipment requiring power supply. It provides optical coupling and uses optical splitters without power supply, through which the signals are delivered by an optical fiber to many private homes and offices. PON allows many more services, far higher speeds and higher reliability of the connection than traditional copper cable networks. Optic cables transmit data using light of huge distances without impacting quality. The investment in this technology actually provides seamlessly future growth of the number of subscribers and services as actually transmission environment has unlimited capacity. This technology does not require electrical power and is defined as "green" IT platform.
