„Integration of internationally recognised standards in „EKA" OOD”

"EKA" EOOD - Sofia, was established in 2005. The company is the successor of EKA – Ventsislav Krastev ST. At present, the company manufactures custom-made metal products according to the specifications of individual clients, mainly for the construction and transport industry. This project aims to improve the management processes as a means to increase the competitiveness and export potential of the company. The improvement of the management processes will be achieved through the integration of an integrated quality and environmental management system and the acquisition of internationally recognised standards for compliance of the integrated system with the requirements laid down in the Bulgarian State Standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. The integration of the management systems has been identified as the most effective and efficient solution to the detected weaknesses related to the quality of the products (the high aspect ratio of scrapped to good products – over 11% in 2015), aspects of environmental impact (generated scrap metal forming 27% of utilized metals) and customer satisfaction (received 6 complaints about finished products delivered). During project realization the following activities will be implemented: - Delivery and commissioning of fixed assets which will contribute to the accomplishment of compliance with the requirements of the Integrated Quality and Environmental Management System (IMS); - Development and integration of an IMS; - Certification of the IMS; - Visibility and publicity actions aimed to promote the EU financial contribution. The integration of the IMS will lead to significant positive results for the company, such as: - increase in the average revenues generated by exports to 20.43%; - increase in net sales by 31.29%; - increase in productivity by 33.79%. Planned project duration is 18 months. The total budget amounts to 125 284,56 BGN, VAT excl.
