New technologies supporting the internationalization

The project proposal aims to increase the quality and quantity of services delivered electronically to Bulgarian enterprises by BSMEPA. The successful implementation of the project will provide new opportunities for institutional support for the increase in the number of SMEs that carry out export activities. BSMEPA has a range of web-based software systems we call "digital platform" (DP) developed by different initiatives BSMEPA, and funded by both EU Structural Funds projects and the budget of the agency. Such are the successfully implemented projects in the programming period 2007-2013 OPAC "Creating conditions for quality information and communication environment and interoperability of BSMEPA" and OPC – "Promoting the internationalization of Bulgarian enterprises" through which appropriate electronic register SMEs and national export portal databases of Bulgarian enterprises were developed and implemented. The agency funded web-based information system for service and internal communication between the Commercial and Economic Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria and BSMEPA through its own budget. In view of the rapidly changing economic and financial environment it is necessary to upgrade and develop the functionality of DP, and it is the only way to meet the current challenges and to enhance the effectiveness of policies to promote Bulgarian export. The planned upgrade of existing software systems will focus on companies with sufficient capacity and export potential. The upgrade of the DP will provide sophisticated communication environment the Bulgarian SMEs and thus fully promote their export. The upgrade is expected to lead to an increase in the volume of export of goods and services generated by SMEs and hence increase their productivity.
