Providing improved services and providing a favorable business environment by modernizing, upgrading and expanding the scope of activity of national standard laboratories at Bulgarian Institute of Metrology

The project proposal is aimed to provide modern contemporary reference equipment for national standard laboratories to offer improved business services. The project aims to modernize and upgrade the National Laboratory for Temperature Measurements and the National Laboratory for Electrical Measurements. For the national standard of Republic of Bulgaria for temperature is planning to supply: - ampoules with reference points for the realization of the International ITS-90 temperature scale; - temperature baths and a humidity chamber to provide metrological traceability by calibration in the field of temperature measurements. The project proposal also provides delivery of reference equipment for measurement of DC and AC voltage, current, resistance and power quality energy (calibrator of electric quantities, oil bath, standard resistors, electro-teraohmmeter and digitizer) for national standards in the field of electrical measurements. Providing advanced standard equipment will enable BIM to maintain internationally equivalent standards in core measurement areas, thus providing metrological traceability for the country. Improved BIM services will create a favourable business environment. By accessing the technology resource in the traceability of measurements, SMEs will realize opportunities that offer the global market and, accordingly, improve their market positions. Precise measurements have always been a prerequisite for providing market sustainability under the conditions of a highly dynamic economy and a competitive environment. Expected results are related to increased quality of products offered by SMEs.
