Improving the productivity, enhancing the export potential and ensuring the sustainable market competitiveness of MESSI Ltd.

The main activity of MESI Ltd. is production of coats, jackets, trousers, dresses, skirts, blouses, shirts, T-shirts, etc. In recent years, more than 99% of the production has been exported. The highly competitive market requires the company to maintain high quality of the production at a competitive price, as well as to respond adequately to the requirements and need of the customers. Part of the available equipment in the factory is technologically outdated. Some machines are missing as a part of the manufacturing process. This requires the use of subcontractors or the use of multiple machines and manual operations to perform only one operation. Despite the fact that for the last 3 years the company has increased the number and volume of the orders, unfortunately this trend starts to change in the end of 2017 - we lost 2 big customers due to the impossibility to fulfill their requirements for production of products with certain parameters. This fact, as well as the increase in production costs, can seriously threaten and limit the company's ability to increase its market share, and there is a serious risk of losing more customers. For that reason, thanks to the current project, the company plans to deliver high-tech equipment and machines to optimize and automate the production processes, to improve the production quality and to increase the resource and production efficiency. This will ensure sustainable growth and increased export capacity, which is the main goal of the project. The project aims at achieving the following results: productivity gains by an average of 7.0%; change in average export earnings resulting from the investment by 4.3%; increasing the cost efficiency by 4.5%, and all theese will ensure improved production capacity for growth and sustainable market competitiveness of MESSI Ltd. The project duration is 16 months. Total budget: BGN 233,300, of which BGN 209,970 are grant.
