Recovery and keeping of Kotel’s carpets manufacture

The result is a product - hand-woven products with Kotel‘s ornaments in the original way of weaving on vertical looms. In addition, electronic registers of digitalized Kotel‘s motives and other ornaments will be available for use, which can be realized both in certain compositions and independently in traditional or more modern products. The realization of the project will create conditions for traditional hand weaving of Kotel carpets, restoration of weaving skills and acquisition of of such skills by young weavers. For this purpose, an experienced and a young weavers are to be hired out to work in parallel to two vertical looms. The need to keep a part of our cultural heritage, which is undoubtedly the Kotel‘s carpets, as a way of production, ornamentation and coloring, will be satisfied. Target groups to which the result is targeted, apart from end-users in the country and abroad, are all involved with the processes related to modern textile products for interior, decoration, clothing, fashion accessories, promotional materials and goods. A site will be rented, ready to equipped with everything necessary both for the weaving process and for the processes of computer preparation - digital processing of the Kotel’s ornamentic and the composition of end products. The purchase of a central computer is provided - a server for providing network fast and remote processing and calculation and storage of graphic information, 3 notebooks for the main qualified personnel and one A3 multifunctional device for quality color scanning and printing of parts of articles and miniatures of whole conceptual projects. Two software systems will be developed - one for building and maintaining of an electronic catalog of motives and ornaments and one for graphic design of final conceptual solutions to be provided to weavers.
