AI based platform for remote diagnostics and treatment of dermatology diseases of pets: PETS@DERMI.CO

The entrepreneurial idea combines Ramp;D in one of the fastest growing technological spheres – big data processing using artificial intelligence with its practical application in veterinary medicine. As a result of the project we will create 2 main products: 1) technology for big data, incl. images processing with AI to be used in the digital healthcare for animals and humans, and 2) a prototype of a web based artificial intelligence system for remote veterinary services for dermatological diseases of pets (dogs and cats) - the system is unique in the world. Later, the prototype can also be modified for human dermatology. We will carry out two activities: 1) Implementing the Entrepreneurial Idea: a multi-component initiative, including: hiring of expert staff – 5 people; purchase of fixed assets - 2; development of a self-learning software for image recognition and analysis for skin diseases diagnosis; purchase of photos accompanied by a diagnosis to be loaded in the database - 1000 pcs; development of economic, financial and technical assessment and market research and marketing plan; a study for patent purity for the registration of a patent and/or utility model; participation in tech forums. An office space will be rented; 2) Visibility actions. The project will be implemented on the territory of Blagoevgrad. In its essence, the project combines industrial and experimental research in the “ICT and Informatics” thematic area of the Smart Specialization Strategy (big data, cloud technologies), and qualifies to the EC definition of eco-innovation. The entrepreneur is a woman under 29, a disabled person will also be employed in the team. The project has a duration of 12 m, total budget BGN 248708, of which BGN 198966.40 grant. It will create sustainable employment for 4 persons. Estimated Net Sales Revenue (in %) 251.30% and estimated EBITDA (in %) - 25.12%.
