Development of High-tech Environmental Laboratory on the territory of Vratca town.

The project proposal is for developing of high-tech environmental laboratory for analysis of hazardous medical and biological wastes and their processing into safe, development of environmentally friendly methods for treatment, disposal and transformation of the waste into products and raw materials for subsequent use; The environmentally friendly management of hazardous medical waste from medical establishments, hospitals, clinics, doctors' and dental offices, veterinary facilities and others is of great importance in order to prevent and limit the harmful impact of waste on human health and the environment. In Bulgaria, almost no hazardous waste disposal or treatment facilities are available, besides the several hazardous waste disposal sites in several regional landfills, several companies and the hospital waste incinerator Much of the hazardous waste that is generated on the territory of the country is exported for disposal in installations in other countries. At the same time, some of the hazardous waste can be recycled and new products obtained. As a result of this, we can boldly take into account the fact that the creation of a laboratory for hazardous waste analysis would be of the utmost importance and the services offered would benefit all hospitals and institutions; The project proposal falls under the priority area "Biotechnology with a Direct Application to a Healthy Lifestyle" from the thematic area "Healthy Living and Biotechnology Industry" defined in the ISIS. The project proposal is in line with the National SME Promotion Strategy 2014-2020 for the development of new enterprises in specific areas related to overcoming European and regional challenges, promoting entrepreneurship, developing competitive and efficient production and ensuring a stable economic growth as well as sustainable employment through the realization and marketing of entrepreneurial products and services.
