Supporting the internationalization of Bulgarian enterprises through organisation of trade missions, business forums, conferences, brokerage events and bilateral meetings

BSMEPA, as an administrative structure with the Minister of Economy, implements the state policy for the promotion of entrepreneurship, development and internationalization of SME. BSMEPA is the institution responsible for conducting and implementing government policy in the field of export as a key factor for economic growth. The main goal of BSMEPA in the field of internationalization is to "support Bulgarian enterprises for their sustainable development, successful integration into the European and world economy and expand their presence in targeted markets". BSMEPA as a structure directly responsible for providing adequate institutional support to Bulgarian enterprises has identified the need for specific support to promote the internationalization of the Bulgarian economy by facilitating the access of Bulgarian SMEs to priority foreign markets. Among the most sought after services provided by BSMEPA are the financial support of the Bulgarian export sectors and exporters, such as the organization of trade missions abroad, bilateral and multilateral business forums and conferences and other events for the establishment of business partnerships in the country, etc. They cover the provision of institutional, logistical and indirect financial support to SMEs for their participation in the events organized by BSMEPA (trade missions, business forums, B2B meetings). These events have been identified as one of the most effective tools for establishing direct productive and trade links and creating international partnerships. Only for last year, more than 1300 representatives of the Bulgarian business took part in the events organized by the agency. The activities foreseen for implementation under the project will build on the results of previous projects of the Agency. The expected effect is to enable Bulgarian enterprises to enter new and expand their presence in traditional markets, acquaint with the latest trends in the development of the respective sector.
