Improving of energy efficiency in Danipack Ltd.

"Danipak" Ltd. produces and sells polymer packaging - different types of bags with various sizes. The company keeps large amounts of foil in stock, due to the large variety and size range of products it manufactures. "Danipak" Ltd. specializes in producing foil and bags with different types of micro- and macroperforation for packaging of fruits, vegetables, foods, and group packaging. The production process is designed so the company can complete small orders in short duration. The process consumes large amounts of electric power. This is why we are using the opportunity to apply for this program to apply a number of energy-efficient measures, recommended by the energy survey report: 1. Purchasing of a plastic bag production machine; 2. Purchasing of a photovoltaic installation for the company's needs; 3. Purchasing of a combined electric power generating and water heating system; 4. Purchasing of a waste heat utilization system; 5. Implementation of an energy consumption monitoring system. We also plan to get certified for and implement the BDS EN ISO 50001 standard. Completing the project will lead to an increase of the capacity of the existing site and a reduction in energy consumption as a whole, and for a single product. The energy survey results show energy savings of over 20% and a factor of energy savings of 40% as a direct result of implementing the measures in this project. The reduction in energy consumption, along with the increase in capacity, will make the company more competitive, reduce the cost price of production, and allow the company to enter new markets.
