Implementing measures for energy efficiency at Euroquartz - MV LTD, town of Pleven

The activities under this project shall be directed toward the implementation of investments to expand the capacity of the existing business establishment and increase energy efficiency at Euroquartz - MV LTD, town of Pleven. In line with the recommendations of a study, made on energy efficiency, two (2) measures shall be provided for implementation on the site, operated by the Applicant - a quarry for aggregate materials, located in the village of Cherkovitsa, Municipality of Nikopol: - Measure 1: Replacement of a front loader - Measure 2: Replacement of a crawler/chain excavator Cutting the volume of energy, consumed for industrial purposes by 654,614 kWh/year and reaching an energy saving ratio (ESR) of 71.36% shall manifest the direct outcome of the activities, implemented under the project. In order to ensure sustainability of achieved high results with respect to reducing energy consumption for production needs, the Company plans to introduce an Energy Management System, in accordance with the BS EN standard ISO 50001. The main results from the implementation of these activities shall be related to reducing the consumption of energy, consumed in the production activity of Euroquartz - MV LTD, town of Pleven. In quantitative terms, the results from the implementation of energy-saving measures shall include the following: - Lower CO2 emissions: by 174.78 tons/year; - Reaching an energy saving ration (ESR), a total of: 71.36% - Planned energy saving (PES) for the enterprise, as a result from the execution of the project: 24.34 %; - Annual saving of energy (AS), as per the package of measures, recommended by the Energy Audit: 654,614 kWh/year.
