Implementing energy efficiency measures at the Company 'Radev and Sons' Ltd., Graff Ignatievo village

'Radev and Sons' Ltd. is a manufacturer of lighting units with application in the industry, households, gardens and parks. The present project proposal included activities, directed toward the implementation of complex investments to expand the capacity of the existing business establishment and increase energy efficiency at 'Radev and Sons' Ltd.. In line with the recommendations of the energy efficiency study, three (3) measures shall be provided for implementation at the Applicant's manufacturing site, located in the village of Graff Ignatievo, district of Plovdiv: Measure 1: Replacement of a plasma cutting machine with a laser cutting machine; Measure 2: Replacement of equipment for the manufacture of lighting bodies by purchasing a digital machine for bending of their frames/bodies; Measure 3: Replacement of equipment for paint-coating of lighting units and their bodies/frames, by purchasing an automatised process line for powder coating of lighting units and their bodies/frames. The direct outcome of activities, implemented under the project shall be cutting the volume of energy, consumed for industrial purposes by 324,560 kWh/year and reaching an energy saving ratio (ESR) of 38.94%. In order to ensure sustainability of achieved high results with respect to reducing energy consumption for production needs, the Company plans to introduce an Energy Management System, in accordance with the BS EN standard ISO 50001. The main results from the implementation of these activities shall be related to reducing the consumption of energy, consumed in the production activity and increasing the production capacity of the enterprise, owned by the Applicant. As an outcome of the activities, described in the project, a reduction of CO2 emissions is expected to be achieved by 51.87 tons per year.
