Improving the energy efficiency of company WOODEX Ltd.

WOODEX Ltd. is a company manufacturing wooden pallets. The company occupies an area of 12 133 m2 plus 2 (two) lots with total area of 5,28 decares. The total built-up area is 3 613 m2, including the production hall which is 2 989 m2, and auxiliary premises (tools sharpening premises / grinder room, administration, room for domestic use) with area 624 m2. Due to the economic crisis in the last 4-5 years and the reduced consumption of wood pallets, lots of the small /craft/ producers reduced or ceased their activity. Thus WOODEX Ltd. got the chance to undertake a great part of the orders in the region which necessitated new investments. Our aim is to increase the competitiveness of the company in order to position it strongly on the market. We are convinced that by launching new products and increasing the efficiency we shall succeed to secure the jobs and to establish the company as a leading producer of pallets in North-East Bulgaria. All this motivates us to participate in the present project under procedure “Energy Efficiency in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises”. The essence of the project is buying new machines and equipment which shall increase the energy efficiency. As a result the production costs shall decrease, the implementation and development of environmentally friendly production shall be supported, the stability and the competitiveness of the company shall increase.
