Implementing measures for increasing the energy efficiency of VAS PRO Ltd.

The project of VAS PRO Ltd. aims at implementing measures for improving the energy efficiency of the company and reducing the amount of energy used for the production of the company’s products, through investments in new machinery with higher productivity and lower energy consumption, as well as in the building of an automated system for monitoring of energy consumption and the introduction of an energy management system. In the long term, the project will lead to a more sustainable development and a significant increase in the competitiveness of the company. In order to establish the concrete measures, which will improve the energy efficiency of VAS PRO Ltd., a contractor was engaged for the carrying out of an energy efficiency study and the preparation of an energy audit report, in which 3 energy measures have been identified. The measures will be implemented by the purchase of the following equipment under Element A (Investments): • Folding system – 1; • Swaging machine with motor drive – 1; • Automated system for monitoring of energy consumption – 1. During the project implementation under Element B (Services) an energy management system will be introduced and certified in full compliance with the requirements of the EN ISO 50001 standard. The project will help VAS PRO Ltd. to improve significantly its energy efficiency: • The total yearly energy savings from the identified measures will amount to 112 989 kWh/year (112.989 MWh/year); • The planned energy savings for the company as a result of the project implementation will be 33.05 %; • The energy saving factor will be 41.27 %. These savings will lead to significant benefits for the environment and will be complemented by the increased possibility to make use of waste production material. Furthermore, the project will directly contribute to the more sustainable development and higher competitiveness of VAS PRO Ltd.
