Improving the energy efficiency of “RAZGRAD POLIGRAF” LLC

‘’RAZGRAD POLIGRAF” LLC was established in 1998. The main economic activity code of the company is 18.12 – Other Printing Services. The printing establishment is specialized in full-colour printing of newspapers, including daily and weekly issues. The enterprise owns a digital printer, designed for full-colour printing, universal offset-printing and other machines. In addition, the establishment designs and manufactures various paper and paperboard products such as promotional merchandise, catalogues, leaflets and paperback books, student notebooks, calendars, applications etc. The project will be executed in a sector, characterised by high energy intensity, with economic activity code 17.29 – Other articles of paper and paperboard. Through the present project the company aims to replace the old machines with new ones for the manufacturing of paper products in order to improve and expand the production capacity as well as to reduce the production cost price by means of increasing the efficiency and decreasing the electrical energy consumption. The improvement of the energy efficiency of the company will lead to increased competitiveness and shall be accomplished by means of the following investments: 1. Delivery of new high-capacity and energy efficient machines for the manufacture of paper and paperboard products, such as: semi-automatic high-speed perforation machine, high-speed printer, spiral binding machine, automatic hardback book covering machine and paper-cutting machine. 2. Investments concerning the reduction of electrical energy consumption, which include delivery and implementation of an automated energy consumption monitoring and control system as well as a system for utilization of the residual ventilation system heat. 3. Consulting services for implementation and certification of ISO 50001, Energy audit and visualisation.
