"Expanding production capacity of Balkanpack Ltd., through improving energy efficiency and introduction of energy saving technologies"

The present project proposal aims the improving energy efficiency and increasing the competitiveness of Balkanpack Ltd. through the following activities: Acquisition of energy efficient production equipment (the activity will be implemented through the purchase of Corrugated Cardboard Production Line – 1 pc.); Acquisition of energy efficient production equipment for recycling scrapped products (the activity will be implemented through the purchase of Machine for cutting and creasing of technological residue (scrapped products) – 1 pc.); Services for implementing of standard BS EN ISO 50001 (as part of the activity will be performed the following services: implementing and certification of ISO 50001). Implementation of this project, which is in fulfilment of the recommended measures in the energy audit, is in full compliance with the Balkanpack's strategy for energy efficiency, as quantifiable results that will be achieved are: Annual energy savings 2758390.29 kWh /yr.; Planned energy savings for the entire company (PES): 37.9%; Factor energy savings (ESR) total: 40.5%. These savings will be realized considering: substantial expansion of production capacity at reduced power consumption; increase the quantity of finished products through recycling of scrapped leftovers; reducing generated waste production and optimizing the quantity of used raw material. Certification to ISO 50001 will allow to Balkanpack the establishment of systems and processes, necessary to improve energy characteristics of the company. Energy planning and continuous monitoring and evaluation of the results will inevitably contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the company, by reducing the ratio between input energy and output of manufactured goods.
