Energy efficient solutions for competitiveness

Robusta Ltd is a leading Bulgarian producer of professional restaurant, bar and shop equipment. The main problems facing the management of the company can be summarized as follows: • High energy intensity of production as a result of outdated machinery and technology • Low productivity, which does not allow development of the company’s production capacity Robusta seeks to build and maintain its image as a socially responsible company, and pursues a policy aimed at reducing energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency. Consequently, the activities of this project proposal target at environmental sustainability of the company, and reduction of the negative impact on the environment through: • Investment in new energy-efficient high-performance equipment and specialized equipment in order to implement the energy saving measures recommended in an energy efficiency investigation report: machines and equipment for the machining workshop; welding machines; reciprocating compressors; polyurethane injection molding machine; system for recuperating waste heat; automated system for monitoring energy consumption • Consulting services needed for Introduction and certification of energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001, and Performing an energy audit (investigation of Robusta Ltd’s energy efficiency) The implementation of the project activities will significantly improve the competitiveness of the company in the following areas: • Improving resource efficiency - reducing the energy costs, and the materials cost due to waste products, which will allow to reduce the product overall cost, and offer a flexible pricing policy • Improving market position – the increased production capacity of the new equipment will enable the company to raise supply series, and thereby expand its market share.
