Implementing measures for energy efficiency at Jiti Jsc., town of Rousse

Jiti Jsc. is a leading enterprise in the country for the production of low-carbon steel wire, nails (construction and special nails), nets, barbed wire and wire products. The company has its rightful place on the international market. This project includes activities, aimed at realization of investments to improve energy efficiency at the enterprise, as well as to expand its capacity. In line with the recommendations of an energy efficiency study, three (4) measures shall be provided for implementation at the Applicant's manufacturing site, located in the town of Rousse: - Measure 1: Replacing the old line of wire drawing for a low-carbon hot-rolled steel (wire rod) with a new line of wire drawing for low-carbon hot-rolled steel (wire rod) inverter - Measure 2: Replacing the old line of wire drawing from pre-drawn semi-product (wire) with a new line of wire drawing from pre-drawn semi-product (wire) with inverter control - Measure 3: Construction of a plant for utilization of the residual heat of the flue gas from the gas oven to heat the material, fed to the electric furnace for heat treatment - Measure 4: Construction of an automated system for monitoring energy consumption The direct outcome of activities, implemented under the project shall be cutting the volume of energy, consumed for industrial purposes by 2,057,079 kWh/year and reaching an energy saving ratio (ESR) of 61,23%. In order to ensure sustainability of achieved high results with respect to reducing energy consumption for production needs, the Company plans to introduce an Energy Management System, in accordance with the BS EN standard ISO 50001. The main results from the implementation of these activities shall be related to reducing the consumption of energy, consumed in the production activity of Jiti Jsc., town of Rousse and limiting the adverse environmental impact with expected results - reducing CO2 emissions: By 1684.75 tons per annum.
