Introduction of energy efficiency improvement measures at "EMI"Ltd.

"EMI" Ltd is a company whose main activity is expressed in the distribution of gaseous fuels through distribution gaseous networks and it operates at the territory of 4 petrol/methane stations - 3 in the city of Burgas and one in the village of Debelt, as the latter has a gas compression station. The activity consists in injection of natural gas in suitable trailers with the assistance of compressor, and distribution of natural gas to industrial, public and administrative buildings, and methane stations subsequently. With a view to the observed trend of market share increase of sold and transported methane in the last few years and the increase of energy and exploitation expenses due to the use of morally and physically obsolete equipment in the enterprise, it appears a need for introduction of measures for energy efficiency increase and reduction of energy costs for compression to the company methane and its subsequent transport or sale. The implementation of this project will contribute for increase of sustainable competitiveness in the enterprise by reducing the levels of energy and non-energy costs during activities' implementation at the enterprise. There are identified the following activities: 1) Investigation of energy efficiency (energy audit) at "EMI" Ltd; 2) Introduction of new reciprocating compressor for natural gas compression at the facility in the village of Debelt; 3) Introduction of automated energy management system; 4) Activity for publicity and visualisation; 5) Introduction of energy management system in accordance to EN ISO 50001; 6) Certification of energy management system in accordance to EN ISO 50001. The identified direct target group of this project is the candidate "EMI"Ltd, and in larger scale - the economic sector in which the applicant operates. The expected results of its implementation will be expressed both in improving energy and resource efficiency and enhancing sustainability and production capacity of the applicant.
