Improving energy intensity and production capacity of Rudmetal-Tehnomash Ltd.

The main activity of "Rudmetal-Tehnomash" Ltd.- Rudozem is repair and production of metal products, spare parts and rubber products with metal core intended for use in the mining extraction and dressing industry. The enterprise’s product range is very wide and diverse and includes more than 150 assorted items, sorted out in three main groups: • Metal products – small and large size rotary and flatsurface components, weighing up to several tons; • Rubbermetal products, which make more than 70 % of the total production output: • Water turbines – Bank type, with capacity up to 250 kW, intended for use in small water power stations. With the current project "Rudmetal-Tehnomash" Ltd. provides application of the following energy saving measures in their operations: - ESM 2 "Installation of modern energy-efficient metal working lathes" - ESM 3 "Installation of modern energy-efficient drilling/milling unit " - ESM 4 "Installation of modern energy-efficient horizontal hacksaw cutting machine "; - ECM 5 "Installation of modern energy-efficient radial drilling machine"; - ESM 6 "Installation of a residual heat recovery system"; - ESM 7 "Implementation of an automated system for energy consumption monitoring "; - ECM 8 "Fuel base replacement of a heating system"; With the implementation of the project "Rudmetal-Tehnomash" Ltd. will apply energy efficiency measures, which will reduce the cost of a unit production, as simultaneously expands its activity and diversifies the manufacturing units, with means of increasing production capacity and improving resource efficiency and effectiveness. With the implementation of the planned package of arrangements will achieve annual energy savings amounting to 159,237 kWh/y and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in tonnes of CO2 eq. amounted to 139,2 t/y.
