Expansion of production capacity for sustainable growth and increased competitiveness of "PLASTFORM" Ltd. through implementation of energy efficiency measures.

This project is developed in accordance with the strategy of "PLASTFORM" Ltd. and it plans implementation of energy efficiency measures to expand the production capacity and to achieve sustainable growth and increased competitiveness. As one of the leading manufacturers of packaging plastics in Bulgaria, the company has a well-developed industrial base. Old and energy-intensive machines with high costs for operation, maintenance and repair, are still used in the main production process despite huge investments since 1993 and implemented successful projects. This leads to increased production costs and low productivity, which doesn't meet the growing market demand. 1. In Element A "Investments" the project will be implemented in the mode of regional investment aid and the planned activities include implementation of energy efficiency measures prescribed in the energy audit related to the purchase and commissioning of: - 2 injection molding machines, 600 kN, Ø35; - 2 injection molding machines, 800 kN, Ø40; - 2 expand machines 200 ml - 1000 ml; - 1 expand machine 50 ml - 500 ml; - 1 expand machine 0,450 l -2,5 l; - 1 installation for caps for pharmacy; - 1 machine for production of PET bottles by wastefree technology. 2. Element B "Services" - introduction and certification of energy management system in accordance with standard BS EN ISO 50001 (Energy Management Systems) / EN ISO 50001, Energy Audit, publicity and visualization, and project audit. The expected results of the project are: - Increased energy efficiency with annual energy savings: 1416 754,373 kWh / year; - Expanded production capacity by over 10% through implementation of 10 new machines and installations; - Increased market share by more than 2%; - Improved quality of products; - Created 5 new jobs; - Increased competitiveness and sustainable growth; - Protected environment by saving CO2 emissions - 1160,32 t/year.
