Increasing energy efficiency in Genomax Ltd.

„Genomax“ Ltd. is established in 2004 with main activity in the field of mattress, frames and cushioned items production. The company has its own production premises in Zamfirovo. The main stages of production are organized in 6 separate sectors as follows: - sector for production of parts for wooden mattress frames; - sector for production of metal mattress frames from profile pipes; - assembly sector; - sector for sewing of cases; - sector for production of mattresses and cushioned beds; - sector for production of plastic parts. One of the largest challenges for the company is to extend its activity according to market dymanics. To answer market demands the company needs to overcome its limitations concerning the low energy efficiency of plastic parts production – the main factor that restricts the productivity and competitiveness of “Genomax” Ltd. The high energy intensity is due to old technologies in this sector and to the bad thermo indicators of the building constructions and elements. The upgrade of the existing production equipment and construction works of the production building are highly imperative but they are falling behind due to the lack of financial resource and the relatively slow return of the investment because the prices of electrical energy in the country are yet one of the lowest. In order to overcome the difficulties mentioned, the project proposal includes the following investments (3 measures) for increasing energy efficiency and extension of the company capacity that are recommended in the elaborated energy audit: 1/ Construction works of the production building; 2/ Delivery and installation of injection moulding machine with robotic arm - type 1 – 1 item and injection moulding machine with robotic arm - type 2 – 2 item. 3/ Delivery and installation of mill for plastic with transport system - type 1 – 3 items and mill for plastic with 6 m3 with bunker and transport fan - type 2 – 1 item.
