Increasing energy efficiency in "Telecom" LTD.

"Telecom" Ltd was established in 1998. Over the years, the company continuously expands its product range according customer requirements and respond to the competitive environment in the industry. "Telecom" is the only manufacturer of intercom systems in Bulgaria, which carries out the full cycle production of its intercom systems. Telecom's products are many. Injection molding of plastic products is a fundamental for the company. The company injected plastic products for the purposes of its own production and for external companies guarantors. The main part of the annual cost of electricity is connected with the work of injection molding machine because machines are available from 1980. And it affects the cost of the devices. The machines are morally and physically outdated, high energy, with a large percentage of scrap and frequent downtime for repairs. This requires the provision of modern injection molding machine that ensures speed, accuracy, quality injection molded products, to achieve the extension of the company's production and increase competitiveness and energy efficiency. "Telecom" wishes to increase its competitiveness by improving energy efficiency and capacity of the company by introducing energy efficiency measures to reduce energy consumption in production. This was made energy audit of the company that gave its recommendations in three measures of performance that are the subject of this project proposal: Measure 1: Reducing energy consumption in manufacturing of parts by injection molding of plastic. Telecom plans to buy modern spraying machine. Measure 2: Utilization of waste heat from the cooling system in the DHW system. Measure 3: Create an automated system for monitoring energy consumption. There are also activities related to introduction of an energy management system ISO 50001 and publicity and visualization.
