SABA Company Ltd. was founded in 1995. Since then, its main activity is production of shoes. The headquarters of the company is located in Sofia, while the production factory is in the village of Kusak, Municipality of Dospat. The main products of the company are: men's, women's and children's footwear, as women’s footwear currently prevails. Typical for the production is the large share of manual labour, as the great diversity of models makes the automatization of many processes and operations impossible The company has developed and implemented its own system for monitoring and quality control of the products. The project proposal is based on the recommendations of the implemented Energy Audit in compliance with the Application Guidelines of the current procedure. According to the proposed measure in the Energy Audit, SABA Ltd. will invest in the purchase and putting into operation of new specialized equipment that will improve the working conditions, shorten the production time, increase the production capacity, reduce the cost and increase the quality of production. The machines are with high precision settings and allow for very quick changeover from one model to another. Within the project, the applicant also intends to implement activities for introduction and certification of systems for energy management in the factory, including ones according to the requirements of the standard BS EN ISO 50001 (Energy Management Systems)/ EN ISO 50001.
