Increasing the capacity and competitiveness of "Elma 13" Ltd. through the implementation of energy efficiency measures

The main objective of the present project is to contribute towards increasing the production capacity, competitiveness and improving the quality of the products with the purpose of achieving a sustainable growth of “Elma 13” Ltd. through the implementation of energy efficiency measures based on recommendation of an energy audit. The project implementation will ensure the future growth of the company and will support its efforts for increasing its market share on the massive wood furniture market. In addition the project will provide solution to some of the main problems and challenges faced by the company – old and energy consuming technological equipment, lack of efficient heating system for the production facilities, low energy characteristic of the production buildings leading to increased costs, lack of energy monitoring and certified energy management systems as well as energy losses related to the lack of technologies utilizing waste heat. The following activities will be implemented within the project: 1. Purchase of new equipment – 2 highly efficient boilers using waste wood (1 for production needs and 1 for heating purposes), new wood processing CNC center, new automated energy monitoring system. 2. Construction works aimed at improving the energy characteristics of the production facility of the company in Troyan. 3. Certification of an energy management systems in compliance with ISO 5001. 4. Information and publicity measures. The expected energy savings resulting from the project amount to 2,681.73 MWh/year and the CO2 emissions will be reduced with 329.18 t/year.
