Increasing "Emi Style 08" Ltd.'s competitiveness by implementing an energy efficiency measure

The company Emi Stil 08 OOD was established in 2008 in the city of Pazardzhik, and its main activity is clothing production, including women’s coats, jackets, trousers, skirts, and dresses, as well as men’s trousers. The production is mostly exported, the biggest clients being from Germany, France, Italy and Denmark. Emi Stil 08 is currently faced with obstacles preventing its development, namely insufficient capacity, inefficient production processes and growing energy costs. These will be addressed by the project proposal, in which the company sets the general aim of enhancing its competitiveness by implementing the recommended energy efficiency measure. This will be achieved through replacing an obsolete line of 37 machines with new technological equipment of high-efficient and economical sewing and ironing machines. Thus the company will extend its production capacity, will reduce its energy intensity and will achieve sustainable growth. Emi Stil 08’s project proposal also envisages the implementation and certification of an energy management system as per the requirements of standard BSS ISO 50001. Thus, rational management will be ensured for the energy directly related to the items produced. As a result of the project implementation, the planned energy savings for the while company will be 26.1%, or annual energy savings of 170,029 kWh/year, and the financial benefits 24,585.27 BGN/year of energy savings and 1,083,710.91 BGN/year of non-energy savings. Furthermore, the project will contribute to environmental protection by achieving carbon emission savings of 139.254 tons/year. The overall positive effect of the project implementation will be visible in Emi Stil 08’s increased competitiveness through the implemented energy efficiency measures, which will ensure moving on towards a more environmentally-friendly, resource-efficient and expanded production.
