Improving the energy efficiency of ‘’VIAS’’ Ltd

‘’VIAS’’ Ltd. was established in 1994 in Shumen. It has got a main economic activity code: 22.21 - Plastic plates, sheets, tubes and profiles. The key activity of the company is extrusion of polyvinyl chloride profile systems for doors and windows. The main product of the company is the VIVA PLAST profile, for which high-quality unleaded materials are used, ensuring an ecologically and biologically harmless production, adhering to the clean environment requirements. In order to improve and expand its production capacity, to decrease the manufacture cost price by increasing the productivity and to reduce the electrical energy consumption, through the current project the company is planning the following: 1. Delivery of new high-capacity and energy efficient machines for the manufacture of PVC profiles: a PVC mixer machine and a PVC scrape grinder machine used for recycling and reuse of discarded profiles. 2. Purchase of a new truck for product transportation. 3. Investments concerning the reduction of electrical energy consumption, including purchase of an automated energy consumption monitoring system as well as a delivery of a system for utilization of the residual ventilation heat by means of a recuperator. 4. Consulting services for implementation and certification of ISO 50001, energy audit and visualisation. The main aim of ‘’VIAS’’ Ltd. is to improve its energy efficiency through the project investments. The reduction of electrical energy consumption will allow the products to become more competitive on the market and this will ultimately lead to a better financial outcome.
