Energy efficiency in Demax Jsc

Demax AD has it’s production activity on three separate sites, each with it’s own power supply and energy monitoring. This project covers the activities of one of the sites, where approximately 2 million kWh of energy are consumed annually to ensure the production process. The analysis shows, that the equipment on-site has high energy consumption and not enough efficiency. We are continuously expanding our production capacity due to the increasing demand for our products and diversifying our portfolio, while looking for new ways to lower our energy consumption per unit produced. An energy audit was conducted to advise on the optimal solution for achieving the desired results. On the basis of the recommended energy saving measures, a number of investments will be implemented, including: - in addition to the current 8 machine, some of which are amortized, and others are of insufficient production capacity, we will invest in a new, high performance and energy efficient 9 color flexo machine; - introduction of a system for energy waste utilization for our own use; - introduction and certification of a system for energy monitoring, according to ISO 50001; - automated system for energy monitoring and control. Initial investment in tangible assets will be conducted to expand the capacity and reduce the energy costs necessary for one of the production sites in Sofia for a period of 16 months. As a result of the implementation of the project, the competitiveness of the company will substantially increase, due to an overall gain in production capacity for printed materials, with almost a 380% increase for self-adhesive labels, as well as accomplishing energy savings of 4 711 074 kWh/annually, which is equivalent to a reduction of 63.83% of the specified energy expenditures of the site with the new capacity.
