Implementation of energy efficient production equipment in “BROD LUKY” Ltd. for achieving sustainable growth and competitiveness

"BROD LUCKY" Ltd., a subsidiary and part of the structure of "Brod and Company Holding" Ltd, is specialized in the production of knitwear. Various models of knitwear are produced. In 2014 a new production is being developed, which focuses on the production of T-shirts and blouses. Approximately 230 people are involved in the production, and the main clients are HEINRICH SAUER, SAINT PIERRE and RABE. In order to remain competitive in the market and continue its successful development within element A company plans to invest in energy-efficient equipment through which to reduce production costs and achieve higher productivity. The project activities include replacement of outdated equipment used in stage 1-sampling from manufacturing process and stage 3 knitting and its replacement with new higher-end machines with higher energy efficiency and greater production capacity. As a result of the implementation of new high-tech equipment the company will achieve a reduction in energy consumption, expanding capacity and reducing the cost of operation and maintenance. Under element B, the company envisages the use of consultancy services for the implementation and certification of an energy management system according to the requirements of the standard BDS EN ISO 50001, as well as the construction of a system for monitoring and control of the energy consumption. These activities will contribute to improving energy balance, increasing efficiency and gaining competitive advantage through lower energy consumption. The implementation of the activities envisaged in this project proposal will lead to the following results: -Increased energy efficiency and competitiveness. Planned energy savings are 69,42%; -More resource-efficient and more environmentally friendly production processes; -Increased capacity and quality of products. The cumulative effect of the investment will ensure the sustainable development of the company “BROD LUKY” Ltd.
