Energy efficiency improvement in Minstroy Maritsa Iztok AD

The purpose of this project proposal is to increase the energy efficiency and production capacity of Minstroy Maritsa Iztok AD by replacing the company's basic production equipment, which is obsolete and energy-intensive. Old equipment will be replaced by new, which is characterized by significantly improved performance and low fuel consumption. The planned replacement is the following: bulldozer, grader, 2 excavators and a front loader, which are the main machines associated with the company's operations. The project envisages the construction of a waste heat recovery system, the introduction of an automated system for monitoring and control of energy consumption and the introduction of ISO 50001. As a result of the implementation of these measures, the volume of energy used and the amount of spent negative carbon emissions from production will be reduced, which will help to protect the environment and improve the competitiveness of the company. The planned energy savings for the plant as a result of the project implementation (PES) will be 78.5% or 4281812 kWh / year. The efficiency of the investment as a ratio of the amount of energy saved in kWh. on an annual basis compared to the required investment in BGN (kWh/lv) will be 1.525 kWh/lv. carbon dioxide savings of 1147.3 t/year.
