Increasing the Energy Efficiency of ALUKOM AD by Raising the Capacity of the Company and Achieving Sustainable Growth in the Production of Aluminum Castings.

The implementation of the project addresses the need to overcome the challenges of high energy intensity in the industry and high levels of consumption of natural raw materials and energy due to physically and morally obsolete technologies, limited access to new practices, production systems and models. These challenges are addressed by investing in new equipment, energy management systems, and introducing of automated energy consumption monitoring and control system that improves energy end-use efficiency and enhance the capacaity of the enterprize to achieve sustainable growth and competitiveness. ALUKOM JSC is a representative of the target group for the procedure - large enterprises executing projects based on an energy audit performed in sectors characterized by high energy intensity. In addition the enterprise is also included in a priority sector with code 24.53 "Casting of light metals". The main objective of the project proposal is to promote measures to increase the efficiency of the final energy consumption of the enterprise by investing in new resource efficient and environmentally friendly equipment, by introducing energy management systems and by introducing automated system for monitoring and controll of the enterprise's energy consumption. The expected results of the project are to increase the competitiveness of ALUKOM AD by improving its efficiency in the final energy consumption, leading to the achievement of sustainable growth and decrease of the energy intensity with the realization of the following activities: 1) Acquisition of new energy efficiency production equipment; 2) Construction of mechanical ventilation installation for utilization of residual heat energy; 3) Construction of an automated system for monitoring and control of energy consumption 4) Introduction and certification of energy management system ISO 50001; 5) Publicity and visualization.
