Increasing resource efficiency in "Medina med" OOD through the implementation of pilot and demonstration initiatives for resource efficiency

The present project proposal will increase the resource efficiency of Medina Med OOD by introducing process innovation - innovative both in Bulgaria and throughout the Balkan Peninsula production process for the recovery of trucks and buses tyres - hot regeneration, by purchasing Line for the production of recovered tires, through hot regeneration - 1pc. The implementation of this innovative production process will allow for the saving of basic raw materials for the production of recovered tires - bases, rubber coating, sprays; a reduction of more than 70% of waste from used tires with code 16 01 03 and passing of " Medina Med OOD to a first degree of "waste prevention" according to the waste management hierarchy; reducing the use of hazardous chemicals such as sprays; increasing the efficiency of production costs by more than 16% compared to 2016 and reducing the amount of emissions in the atmosphere from the production activity. The introduction of innovation will extend the production capacity of Medina Med OOD by more than 65% as it will recover all bases without generating waste "used tires" and will allow the company to expand its market share among manufacturers of recovered trucks and buses tyres. The project also includes activities for organizing and conducting events and publications in traditional and digital media to multiply the results of the project.
