Improvement of resource efficiency of Gurtzov Ltd. through introduction of painting technologies of furniture details - pilot for Bulgaria

Gurtsov Ltd. was founded in 2002., producing a single product - bathroom cabinet within the NACE.BG 2008 - C31.09 Manufacturing of other furniture, for which code, activities improving the resource efficiency are envisaged in this project. In the period of 2013-2016 production increased by 450% to 10075 p. for 2016. The current manufacturing process takes place with a large overrun of paint, undercoat, varnish, impregnator and auxiliary materials applied to the furniture panels. The reason for this overrun are the current methods of coating, painting and varnishing in the enterprise. In combination with enlarged production, the cost of these materials over the last 4 years increased significantly. In order to improve resource efficiency in production of bathroom cabinets, the current project includes the following activities, for which the resource audit demonstrates a significant contribution to the improvement of resource efficiency in the enterprise: - Acquiring of Automatic machine for coating, painting and varnishing edges; - Acquiring of Thermopressurized painting room with painting robot system and varnishing of furniture details; The technologies implemented through these assets represent manufacturing innovation in the industry, pilot for Bulgaria. Through their implementation, significant savings will be made in all liquid materials: paint, undercoat, varnish, impregnator and auxiliary materials. Through the investment, the enterprise will expand its capacity without changing the production process. Along with the economic benefits, the project will have a positive impact on environment, incl. emission reduction, waste prevention, incl. packages, reduction of hazardous chemicals. In the project activities for results multiplication are included in order to show the effect of innovative technologies for painting furniture panels in Bulgaria, which would significantly increase the resource efficiency of the entire furniture industry.
