Improving the resource efficiency in company Bulkraft Ltd

Bulkraft Ltd is a company specialized in surface treatment of metals. It carries out its activities in one production yard, which is situated in Varna, Konstantinovo village, Ladjata, at the site of “TEREM – KRZ Flotski Arsenal – Varna” Ltd. All the activities under the project related with the resource efficiency improvement will be implemented in this yard. Currently the company carries out the following activities: surface treatment of metals (high pressure washing, degreasing, surface cleaning and anti-corrosion coating). The working process until now is characterized with using of hazardous chemical substances during the process of degreasing, consumption of fresh water when washing surfaces, high dust levels in blasting, high abrasive consumption (copper slag), 100% of which goes in waste and cannot be used multiple times. The candidate plans to purchase under the project a Complex system for abrasive wet blasting (including wet blasting machines and micro screening installation) and Complex system for ultra high pressure of hydro blasting (including high-pressure hydro blasting machines, equipped with magnetic climbing robots and water jetting multi worker). This investment will save abrasive (the main resource) and degreasing agent. Due to the micro screening installation, it will be possible the abrasive to be used multiple times, thus reducing waste. By the automation process the productivity will raise and the conditions of work will be improved. The dustiness will decrease with 92%. These technologies are pilot for Bulgaria (in the field of wet as well as in the field of hydro blasting), the production process is innovative, because it combines technologies which, working in synergy achieve high level of saving raw materials (32.9%) and reducing the waste (44.83% -average for all types of wastes) and have the potential to become good practices and to be disseminated among the companies in the sector and all the interested institutions and persons
