Support for pilot and demonstration initiatives for resource efficiency at Nexas Ltd.

The main need of NEXAS Ltd. is to increase resource efficiency. With this project proposal, the company is applying for the implementation of a new technology pilot for Bulgaria, which is a production innovation. The project is based on a resource efficiency audit and is demonstrative - it aims to attract other enterprises in the industry to introduce similar measures in their production. Through the project, the plant will manage its waste efficiently by achieving a waste reduction under code 17 04 05 Metals / iron and steel / and reduce the amount of raw materials used per unit of output. The project will be implemented around the Natura 2000 sites (EKATTE 68134), reduces the use of hazardous chemicals (polyester powder paint and Alkyd primer) and provides 20% reduction in the amount of harmful emissions in the atmosphere. The achieved results will have a direct positive effect on environmental protection at enterprise level. The high potential for multiplication of results in other enterprises in the same or similar sphere of activity will result in a multiplication of positive environmental effects at country level. Activities are planned to: - Acquisition of tangible fixed assets related to the reduction of raw materials and waste management; - Conducting events to multiply the results; - Publications in traditional and digital media; The opportunity to grant part of the cost is a key factor for starting the project and guaranteeing the achievement of the outcomes and indicators. This proposal fully meets the objectives of the Operational Program "Innovation and Competitiveness" 2014-2020, as well as the current project selection procedure, following and applying the principles of the SME Development Strategy in Bulgaria and the Small Business Act.
