Increasing the resource efficiency of Balkanpack Ltd. by introducing process innovation in the production of seven-ply corrugated board.

This project proposal is aimed at increasing the resource efficiency of Balkanpack Ltd. by introducing innovative technology for automated production of seven-ply corrugated board by realizing the following activities: Developing a resource efficiency audit; Acquisition of a Line for the production of seven-ply corrugated board to reduce the raw material used (paper, water, borax, starch and sodium hydroxide), reduce and prevent the formation of corrugated board waste; Acquisition An automated system for the preparation of glue, related to reduction of used raw materials (water, borax, starch and sodium hydroxide), reduction of waste (corrugated board) and prevention of their formation; Organizing and conducting an event to multiply the project results; Measurement of emission baseline. The implementation of the current project, which is in the process of performing the technological efficiency audit, is in full compliance with the resource efficiency strategy of Balkanpack. The quantitative results to be achieved in the implementation of this project proposal are as follows: optimization of the accumulated raw material per unit of output; reduction of used harmful substances contained in the raw material composition; reducing production waste generated; prevention of waste generation. This will inevitably lead to the following positive effects: increasing the productivity of Balkanpack Ltd.; improving the resource efficiency and efficiency of an enterprise; greening and sustainable development. All this will contribute to expanding the production capacity and competitiveness of the company by reducing the ratio between the quantity of raw material used and the output quantity of the produced product. The implementation of innovation for the Balkanpack will increase its resource efficiency and this will positively influence the protection of the environment by giving its contribution and example.
