Development of the State Agency for Refugees’s administrative capacity

The project was developed in response to the need to upgrade and increase the State Agency for Refugees at the Council of Ministers institutional capacity to realize its public role in the implementation of the state policy in the field of international protection as a specialized state body responsible for granting international protection to the asylum seekers and organization of activities for providing of social, medical and psychological support in a favor of asylum seekers. The planned activities target the employees of the specialized administration of SAR, representatives of three municipalities and other state institutions and non-governmental organizations, whose activities take major role as key participants in the processes of providing services to asylum seekers. The planned specialized trainings and exchange activities of experience will increase the professional competence for more effective and efficient implementation of the obligations of the employees of SAR. The targeted training will develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to identify and take measures to meet the special needs of vulnerable people; will focus on the legal and practical developments in the field of international protection in the EU; will improve the quality of their work by developing and building of skills to cope with everyday difficulties and to reduce the level of stress in the workplace; will develop their knowledges in relation to the refugee’s country of origin and skills for positive communication and tolerance. Another focus of the project is the provision of constant exchange of actual information and experience between the employees of SAR and all stakeholders - representatives of municipal administrations, state institutions and non-governmental sector engaged in the provision of services to the asylum seekers and consolidation of mechanisms for institutional interaction and cooperation.
