Raising the awareness of the Bulgarian society and migrant communities in Bulgaria

The activities envisaged under the project will contribute to the improvement of the social solidarity and tolerance of the Bulgarian society as a host society toward legal migrants, persons seeking international protection or granted with international protection in Bulgaria. Special attention will be paid to introducing Bulgarian society to the problems and needs of the migrants especially vulnerable migrants such as unaccompanied children, people with health problems, pregnant women, victims of trafficking in human beings, etc. The project will provide support to third-country nationals (TCNs) legally residing in Bulgaria as well as asylum seekers or beneficiaries of international protection to facilitate their cultural integration and overcome intercultural differences to facilitate their integration into Bulgarian society. The project activities will contribute to building multicultural competence and real participation in the integration process of civil society in Bulgaria, social partners, central and local authorities and international and non-governmental organizations. The project will contribute to raising the awareness of the Bulgarian society about the positive contribution of the immigrants to the country's development and will help to build a climate of tolerance as a necessary element for the successful integration of the third country nationals in Bulgaria. Respect to the rights of migrants and to preservation of their ethnic, cultural and religious identity will be a guiding principle while implementing all the project activities. The project activities will also encourage the active inclusion of Bulgarian society in the integration process. Four information campaigns will be carried out with at least 3 different activities in each campaign. It is envisaged at least 3500 TCNs to participate in the information activities carried out to raise the awareness of the Bulgarian society and the migrant communities in Bulgaria .
