TO GET TO KNOW THE OTHER

A Communication strategy for creating positive public attitudes towards asylum seekers and beneficieries of international protection in Bulgaria, as well as acquaintance of those persons of concern with the possibilities for integration in the country and in general increasing the tolerance at a local level. An Advisory media council consisting of five experts will be composed due to the project specificity. The experts will support the overal implementation of projectactivities with regards to the communication to the host society and the asylum seekers and beneficieries of international protection. The experts will be in the role of public advocates during the information campaigns. Stages of project implementation: 1.Research and analysis, which includes a national survey the public attitudes towards asylum seekers and beneficieries of international protection , outline effective communication messages, develop a plan for its implementation. 2.Carrying out a first national information campaign with components - TV campaign, radio campaign, social media campaign - creating a facebook page and installing a profile with a hashtag, printing 3 types of information brochures and one type of children's coloring book, 2 initiatives , involving representatives of the host society and persons seeking and receiving international protection. 3. Carrying out 3 regional campaigns - in Sofia, Sliven and Haskovo, as regions with the largest number of persons of concern. Regional campaigns will follow a unified model, but will take into account the specific characteristics and needs of the region. Local media partners will be identified to conduct regional campaigns and will cooperate with local authorities. 4. Conducting a second national information campaign with components - TV campaign, radio campaign, social networking campaign. 5. Final study of public attitudes in order to determine the level of impact of the information campaigns conducted.
