Provision of funding for additional security staff for SHTAFs within the MD–MoI

The MD is the only competent national authority responsible for managing the Special Homes for Temporary Accommodation of Foreigners (SHTAFs) receiving TCNs who are subject to identification, with purpose to ensure the execution of the return or expulsion measures. The project envisages to provide funds for additional security staff for both SHTAFs, with a total number of 90 persons, which will be implemented after approval of an additional staff of the MD-MoI for persons working under the employment relationship regime for activities provided for in Art.140a of the Law on the Ministry of Interior, for the period of the project implementation. To date, the activity for ensuring additional security staff for both SHTAFs has been first implemented as part of GA 0046. The implementation of this activity helps ensuring additional security of the TCNs accommodated in the SHTAFs, as well as preventing incidents among these persons. The activities related to the provision of funding for operational costs for both SHTAFs additional security staff are also included in two ongoing projects that MD is implementing within AMIF National Program (№ 812108-11/19.02.2020 and № 812108-66/07.10.2021). According to the last contract the activity ends at the end of May 2022.
