Execution of works, reconstruction, modernization and renovation of consular posts

This project is aimed at executing new works, reinforcing and strengthening the building stock, the premises, the related infrastructure, the equipment, the technical means and the organization of consular posts of the Republic of Bulgaria in third countries in view of both bringing them in conformity with the Schengen acquis and best practices, and preparing them in technical readiness for the purposes of implementing Schengen visa application process requirements for future full-fledged membership in the Schengen area. In order to comply with the Schengen requirements and meet the identified needs, measures will be planned under this project to execute new works, carry out modernization, reconstruction, renovation and extension of consular posts, and provide the consular services abroad with technical equipment on consular activities and security. Within the task so targeted at strengthening the national capacity in support of the common visa policy and the process of bringing the consular posts in conformity with the Schengen requirements by means of improving the existing infrastructure of the consular posts, streamlining their operating equipment indispensable for the sake of the visa application process and the consular cooperation directed at enhancing the quality of service of visa applicants, the following project activities will be performed: 1. Management, implementation and control of the project; 2. Execution of new works for the consular post of the Republic of Bulgaria in Beijing, China; 3. Reconstruction, modernization, extension and renovation of consular posts; 4. Supply of technical equipment on consular activities for consular posts; 5. Supply of technical equipment on security for consular posts; 6. Information and public awareness of the project.
