Modernization of the National Coordination Center in Sofia

In CDBP is established and functioning a National Coordination Center (NCC). The center implements activities under the European Border Surveillance System EUROSUR, creates a national situational picture at the external borders, gathers and processes operational information from all CDBP structures, as well as information from the technical means situated at the border and coordinates the activities of the structures involved in the border control. The Center maintains 24/7 on-call duty and exchange information with NCCs from other EU Member States regarding the situation at the borders and exchanges information needed to build the operational situation at the EU's external borders. One of the main tasks of the NCC is the management and coordination of national forces and assets involved in joint border police operations and to provide the necessary information when conducting them. The NCC provides informationally the management of the CDBP. Currently in an area of 50 square meters there is a 24/7 hour duty of 20 employees in 5 shifts and a representative from the Customs Agency, with a lot of technical equipment in the room. With implementation of this project is aimed to absorb part of the courtyard space on which will be built a building with separate rooms to optimize work in the NCC, by expanding the workspace, introducing new work places for operators working with the integrated maritime system and integrated system on the Bulgarian-Turkish border, introducing new work places for duty analysts, expanding the NCC's International Coordination Center and building a videoconferencing room. There will be established a situational center for managing CDBP in crises and server room. The development of the analysis layer of the National situation picture by providing access to the analytical level of the EUROSUR system will increase the possibilities for improving the state awareness at the borders of the country and so making adequate and reasoned decisions.
