Bulgaria has actively participated in SIS since 2010. For that purpose the MoI has designed and developed a national component of SIS and a national connection interface. Since April 2013 N.SIS has become a part of the EU SIS 2. The proposed activity will both guarantee reliable and secured access to SIS 2, and will maintain the accuracy of data stored in it. Reliable operation of the technical resources and the system software and the uninterruptable work of the system itself requires a step-by-step replacement and further development of the equipment and software, as well as delivery of new ones. The after guarantee support of N.SIS 2 is provided by another project. However, some elements of the equipment supplied under Schengen facility and External Borders Fund reach the limits of their exploitation and their maintenance will cost much more efforts and resources. By this project we plan a delivery of new equipment and software which will allow us to extend the system operation, including a building up of a new alternative route to back-up the power supply of the data centres.
