Establishment and introduction into exploitation of the EU Entry/Exit System

This project proposal is in line with REGULATION (EU) 2017/2226 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 30 November 2017 establishing the building up and implementation of the Entry/Exit System (EES) to register entry and exit data and refusal of entry data of third-country nationals crossing the external borders of the Member States. The System implementation is based on the EU priority "smart borders" principles. In order to put them into effect an effective and integrated style of the EU external borders management is necessary. This goal may be achieved through the EES implementation. The system itself will additionally improve border management and mobilise all the tools at our disposal to support the Member States in their border tasks. To this end, integrated border management of external borders should be modernised in a cost efficient way to ensure smart border management. EES will calculate the swift and in time the duration of the authorised stay and verify compliance with the provisions on the authorised period of stay on the territory of the Member States. The system will register electronically the time and place of entry and exit of third-country nationals admitted for a short stay to the territory of the Member States.
