Development and integration of the "European Travel Information and Authorisation System"

The Bulgarian ETIAS national unit will be situated at IOCD. Structural and staff amendments have already been made at the IOCD, so that ETIAS national unit can be created in a timely manner. For this purpose, IOCD’s personnel have been increased by 11 additional vacancies. The Unit will be in direct subordination to the Director of IOCD and will be managed by a single Head of unit. The Unit will operate on a 24/7 basis. The activities provisioned for the realization of the project include repairs and reorganization of work premises and delivery and installation of technical equipment and software. The unit will include 11 work stations with PC configurations, software and other IT products. A server will also be installed for the needs of the unit. Security and access control systems of the IOCD will be increased to meet the contemporary standards. The ETIAS system will be integrated with the existing databases of the Ministry of Interior as well as with the existing workflow system of the IOCD. A second, emergency optic fiber line route to the building will be established. Optic fiber lines will be installed for the inner connections as well. The staff will receive the necessary training. Information regarding the project will be distributed to the media and target groups via opening and closing press conferences and promotional materials in different languages.
