Conducting joint investigations with other EU partners in trafficking in human beings

As a form of cross-border organized crime, trafficking in human beings is regulated in a lot of national, European and international legal acts due to its international image and the extent to which it affects both the economic and social development of the countries. Establishing and conducting joint investigations team with foreign services is an extremely important element in the fight against cross-border organized crime, which leads to an efficient investigation into the territory of the EU. The team includes prosecutors, operatives, investigating police officers, investigators, etc. The usual duration of the investigation teams takes about 1 year. The implementation of this activity will contribute to the extension of measures in the fight against serious and organized crime, including financial and economic crimes, in the area of ​​trafficking in human beings. During the implementation of the project it is envisaged three joint investigations to be conducted with three EU members in the field of fight against trafficking in human beings. With each EU member it is envisaged a total of 8 meetings to be conducted - 4 operational meetings in Republic of Bulgaria and 4 at member state. The duration of one meeting will be 3 days / 2 nights/.
