Development of Bulgarian Passenger Information Unit (BGPIU)

The project application includes activities aiming to develop computer and information infrastructure of the Passenger information unit (BGPIU) of the Republic of Bulgaria and it is planned BGPIU to master its analytical capabilities and processes for providing information to competent authorities. All activities are compliant with stakeholders needs, achieving better operational capabilities and IT systems of the unit. The project is aiming to construct main and redundant data center sites, training center and deliver equipment for the stations and post contract warranty. There is activities, which will ensure experts attendance to different security and operational work forums related to use of PNR data for the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of terrorist offences and serious crime. Information and Publicity measures will be conducted as well as part of COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) No 1048/2014 and COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) No 1049/2014.
