Training on Counterintelligence and Information Protection for Strategic objects

In accordance with the National Security Strategy of Republic of Bulgaria (NS), the protection of population and critical infrastructure (CI) in crises,disasters,accidents, catastrophes and other risks and threats are determined as vital interests. Proactive preventive measures to ensure and enhance the security and resilience of CI (as a whole) and strategic objects, important for national security (in particular) suggest the establishment and maintenance of good level of knowledge and expertise among SANS experts (target group in this project). In order of adequately respond to the threats and assessment of the increasingly role and importance of the CI (strategic objects) for the national security, an ISF application was undertaken to meet the specific national target - training on protection against various crises, disasters and accidents. The project envisages implementation of activities, "structured" in 2 modules: "Train the trainers" including 2 main activities and several sub-activities and "Training on CI within the framework of European partnership and national expertise", also including several sub-activities. During the project implementation the following results will be achieved: Adequate professional training and qualification of the employees ensured and high level of protection of national assets achieved;Upgrading of the acquired knowledge and capabilities of the employees involved in counter-intelligence and information protection of strategic objects part of the CI; Establishment and development of mechanism for public-private partnership in assisting the leaders of strategic objects and activities of importance to the national security in the analysis and evaluation of risks and establishment of protection of the strategic objects; Overall increase of the administrative capacity in the field of counteraction of emerging risks and threats for counter-intelligence and information security of the CI and strategic objects.
