Establishment of a Centre for CIS security research of strategic CI sites

The project aims to establish a Centre for security research (The Centre) in SANS. By this Centre will be provided potential for specialized research in the Agency and the produced results will be used in daily workload of (i) the Security Accreditation Authority (SAA) of AIS/N for classified information, (ii) Cryptographic security authority (CSA), and (iii) the structure, providing countermeasures against destructive action to CIS. The Centre will research, analyze and assess CIS and the means for their protection, the methods and the means, the algorithms for cryptographic protection of the information, the vulnerabilities of the CIS of the strategic sites and for the classified information and the means for their security. The following positions will be delivered, installed and put into operation: • Specialized hardware and software with the necessary computational resource for modeling of CIS; • resources for information storage from conducted tests and information for vulnerabilities and weaknesses of the tested systems, object and communication equipment. Training will be conducted for officials about operating with above system. It is foreseen delivery of office equipment and furniture. In the framework in the project specialized trainings will be conducted about up-to-date approaches and methods and means of protection of CIS. The training will provide the necessary additional knowledge and skills of the officials in relation with Centre activities. It is envisaged the participation of experts in thematic events in the field of methods of protection and security of CIS - cryptographic protection and security for AIS/N for classified information in the Republic of Bulgaria, EU member stated and third countries.
